I dunno, grafti. The world became too soft once we stopped punching each other in the face like we did in the 1970s.
Just to clarify, people living south of the Ohio River are easily offended by people who are not 100% exactly like them. Now toss in a state patrol officer from Iowa working for the Georgia state patrol. Mass confusion and being severely offended happens among the local population as a result.
This happens when someone from where @vannax lives, showing up with a truckload of stuff to be delivered. It is so bad in the South that one day the driver couldn’t explain to the locals what he was there for. They refused to listen to someone from another country who had a foreign accent. The company sent me in to pick up a load of restaurant appliances. I was between loads and close to the problem that day. Lucky me? That incident was in rural South Carolina just off I-85, west of Greenville.
Someone with a Polish last name, even if he speaks perfect English, is going to have a rough time in that part of the country. America is not a single culture, unlike most countries. Many southerners still hate people from the Midwest and the Northeast because of the Civil War (Lincoln fired the first shot! Reeee!) I wish there was a way to educate and get them to be more tolerant of other people. Unfortunately, that won’t happen in my life. All previous attempts have failed.
An old joke in the Midwest is how people from Iowa are so poor they can’t afford an accent, so they don’t have one. If you want to hear what someone from that part of the country sounds like, watch the Laura Farms channel on YouTube. Laura and her husband, Grant are a good representation of how people who live among the cornfields speak. I have to admire them for doing what most young people won’t do, start running a farm, complete with huge expenses.

My thoughts exactly.
Outside of the distractions of unnecessary clout fights and misunderstood internet content, there seems to be less and less helping and contributing. A big deal has been made out of something that no formal plans have been established for.
That would be a notification setting in Discourse. It’s shaped like a bell on the right side of the thread. You set that to Normal so you only get notifications when you are mentioned or replied to. Nothing formal would be announced in Coffee break it’s for off-topic chit chat.

In short:
- We will not force age verification on people
- That does not automatically mean having to patch out features related to it that can be used for both good and evil (having an optional birthdate entry in a user database, which is what systemd has done, is not necessarily bad, it can also be used to remind people of a birthday, or to enable/disable some parental controls). As long as it’s just an optional database entry, this is 100% noise 0% signal
- We haven’t fully decided what to do with countries and states that require age verification, but the primary lines of thoughts are either (1) “ignore it” (along with some reasons why the laws don’t actually affect us) or (2) “Provide a special “1984 edition” that does the minimum required and leave it up to people whether they download the normal or the 1984 edition”.

Yes, it does. If you give them an inch now, than a mile tomorrow is not out of the question. If I ever see this stuff when I install, I bail. Period.
Doesn’t affect us, the problem is snap packaging (which has always been a bad idea). SystemD’s tmp file management is merely used as a vehicle to attack snap.
From the sounds of things, OMLx has decided to comply, at least to the point of letting systemd do its age verification stuff.
Oh well.
IMHO, the right thing to do would be to edit systemd, and say “no!” to all this stuff, and give us all a script to play the “ageless linux” game, or something along those lines. Looks like the one guy with pronouns in his bio has defined the direction the team will go. 
The only reasonable response to this kid of overreach is that of Artix and maybe one or two others: No. No effin way. Mind your own business, etc. FOSS is at an inflection point: That which will be dictated to and that which will not be dictated to. Once FOSS allows itself to be dictated to, well then, it ain’t FOSS anymore, it becomes some sort of sickened state hybrid. Perhaps we can call it ScOSS: State controlled Open Source Software. Maybe, one day, everything will be state controlled, and we will all be happy citizens of the state.

You want to go there you could make the same argument about duels and how they were made illegal made for weaker men.
There is some need for men to get that out of their system - modern society has pushed feminization of men through diet, media, etc.
So now you have men accepting that it is okay give their birth-date to their computer in order to have the privilege to use it.

A man needs to know how to take a punch in the mouth just like he knows how to give one. I’ve taken my fair share, for shooting my mouth off to the wrong guy at the wrong time, and given my fair share to people who shot their mouths off at me when I wasn’t in the mood to take it. Its a sort of reality check, IMHO. It ain’t a real fight, its just a punch in the mouth. Now, if you do it hard enough to do real damage, well then, now its a fight, but a fat lip or a shiner is just some just desserts.
Allow me to suggest a 1984 edition that just sends a middle finger gif and a normal edition that has edited that crap out of systemd.

Remember Lunduke gave OpenMandriva a good credit and we switched over? I genuinely like OM, but if those WEF and child predators will keep pushing this stupid law, we, the like minded people, may be forced to change our OS. As a result, we will be spread all over the place but not in the same OS.

Speaking only for myself, I’m sticking with OML for now. They will have to decide what they’re gonna do next, and I like to think that they will at least have an option that I like. This OS is awesome so far, I’d hate to have to ditch it, but I will if I ever see it asking me anything more intrusive than my time zone.
