Upgrade after last night ROME upgrade (should be OK) (12/06/25)

Hello,

Do not do this with Discover or dnfdragora. More below.

If you have not dsynced your ROME system since the upgrade of Nov. 8-9, 2025 that changes everything. Stop and read about that here and here before doing anything. Basically you need to do that particular dnf dsync from console mode. You do that one from graphical desktop and you will most likely have problems.

If your system has been upgraded since Nov. 8-9 then the following should be accurate. (Same if you installed ROME from an iso built after Nov. 9, 2025).

Requirements:

I have Searched the forum for my issue and found nothing related or helpful
I have checked the Resources category (Resources Index)
I have reviewed the Wiki for relevant information
I have read the the Release Notes and Errata

OpenMandriva Lx version:

OpenMandriva Lx release 25.12 (ROME) Rolling
x86_64 and znver1

Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):
KDE Plasma 6

Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):
Upgrade after last night ROME upgrade (12/06/25)

Relevant information (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):

So RE last night UM: I have upgraded 1 ROME P6 VBox VM, 1 ROME P6 Qemu VM, and ROME P6 system on my laptop. I have not noticed any problems. Also we have not seen any reports of any problems with from anyone in OM Contributor group.

So this should be OK if one uses the ‘System Update’ utility (should be in your menu panel or in Application Menu) or from cli like:

sudo dnf clean all

sudo dnf dsync --allowerasing 2>&1 | tee rome_dsync.log.txt

That will create a log rome_dsync.log.txt for you to post here or in a bug report should you encounter any problem.

Users are welcome to post general findings in this thread.

However if you have a problem you need help with please start a new thread with a descriptive title and as much detailed information as you are capable of including your rome_dsync.log.txt. Please only one problem per thread. Otherwise other users can not find your issue should they have the same problem you have already posted about.

New isos are in progress and when they are built you will find them here.

Note: This applies to testing in VBox so far, these have not been tested on hardware or in Qemu. That might make a difference do not know yet.

The newest ROME P6 isos # 4333, 4337, 4338, and 4339 are duds, don’t use these. We have some things to fix, should be fairly easy fixes. Will post when we have proper isos made.

Update performed on How to install from ISO #4293 on 9/11/25, everything ok. I’m attaching the Dnfdrake log.
