Welcome. We are glad to see you here.
All the links posted here are awesome.
What I have been attempting, little by little as I find creators who post to other platforms: I subscribe on the other platform and transfer my viewrship over there/away from YT.
I watch all political commentary on their respective paid platforms, Lunduke, Rob Braxman, GunGuyTV, Crowder, etc on Rumble. Odysee I really love, but have not successfully worked it into my watching/listening flow
Which one of these is you @darth ?
Personally, if a given piece of content is available on Odysee or Rumble, that’s where I’ll watch it.
I still watch a lot of YT content, without an account. An extension called “pocket tube” manages my “subscriptions”.
There is a guy I’ve been watching recently who focuses on security/privacy called Fuzo Tech, he has a presence on Rumble, but his last post there is 3+ months old as of now, and he’s posting pretty regularly on YT, so I figure he abandoned his Rumble channel. Hopefully that’ll change.
The rule of thumb for YouTubers seems to be to use Rumble or Odysee for a backup, for that time in the future when YouTube decides to block the content or ban the channel for whatever pathetic but political agenda-driven anti-free-speech reason. Which is something YouTube is known for. All it takes is for some clown show at YouTube to start screaming, “I’m Offended!” for content to be removed or someone’s ears to be scarred for life because the content didn’t agree with the current agenda. And the content doesn’t even need to be political.
At least that is my impression of how things work. I check content first on Rumble and Odysee and watch it there. Like it or not, YouTube, like Walmart in big box retail, is the 800 pound gorilla of video content.
This didn’t age well. I guess it was only a matter of time before another fence sitter was going to choose a side. It’s horrible that he chose the one where he treats his subscribers like they cannot think for themselves.
My theory is I keep a toe in Rumble, Odysee, etc but watch everything on YT with Ad-Block on anyway. Might as well use Google’s woke infrastructure for free.
