@gour and @OhPlz and @Ascendus welcome to OpenMandriva! We’re glad you’re here. Remember to use the OM Welcome app after installing OpenMandriva Lx. It’s a very useful welcome app.

Welcome! Is there anyone who doesn’t know Lunduke?

Only found his content recently. I am glad to see someone who isn’t sucking up to the nonsense flying around those days. Truly the last bastion against wokism.

I hope that I’m not late to the party! I’m installing on a vm until I have time to migrate to it on my desktop.

Cheers!

I am late to the Lunduke party but I’m glad to be here.

I have not actually installed ROME yet because I am working overtime right now but I have the ISO downloaded and will install it on my first free weekend.

For a long time I have wanted to find a sweet spot between Arch and Debian. For an even longer time I have wished for a Linux community that is not insanely obsessed with making everything political. I hope I am welcome here and look forward not only to ROME but to posting some off topic things in Coffee Break with like minded people regardless of where you are from and where you are on any political spectrum.

The hardest part for me will be the Plasma desktop because I have used Xfce for years. I did see there was an LxQT iso so I might try that as well.

I cannot stress enough how overjoyed I am to have found OpenMandriva and sincerely hope that the long time users do not mind being overwhelmed with new users. I am not any kind of coder or developer but am a long time Linux user. An average user but an average user with a lot of experience and I would like to post a synopsis of my Linux journey in a non-toxic place with hope that it might encourage people on the fence to give OM a try.

Thank you for reading if you made it this far.

You are indeed welcome here. Yes, moving from LXQt to Plasma will take some adjustment, but I think you’ll manage. If you run into any trouble at all, just create a new thread in the Support section. Again, welcome!
