The znver1 version is only for processors 2017 and newer (basically means Ryzen), otherwise you would use the normal x86_64 iso like you ended up doing.
I know your model processor was released in 2019, but it is a recycled architecture from like 2011-2015
I think OM management is on the verge of explaining the limits of shameless plugs, but since you asked I updated my bio. Just click on my username and then “expand”.
I’m using Linux since 1999 - started with SUSE CD set, spent >5yrs with Gentoo and then Arch. Tried Fedora for a short period of time, similar with openSUSE Tumbleweed, but most of the time in between, used Debian/Sid with short episodes with Siduction. Few months ago, I thought I’d settle on LMDE, but now would like to try OM…Lunduke’s video sparked interest in OM - not just because of non-work policy, but due to technical merit as well!
Looking forward to install it on both my my (laptop) machine as well as on the old Thinklpad netbook, but have some issues with the latter…
Also came here thanks to Lunduke, via his YouTube channel. I was a Mandrake and Mandriva user way back in the day when those were live distros. Even have a physical boxed Mandrake. I had no idea that OpenMandriva was even a thing. Couldn’t come at a better time, been looking for a new favorite OS.
My name is Chris, I’m from Poland. I’m a linux “senior-user” I’ve been using various Linux distributions for a dozen years, I’ve been through Mandrake (yes!), Gentoo, Kubuntu, Manjaro, Arch, EndeavourOS, openSUSE Tumbleweed, Fedora… In the meantime, I also briefly encountered Mageia and OpenMandriva. But it wasn’t until recently that I learned from Lunduk how much the open-source and Linux community is full of hatred for conservative-minded people (like me).
I decided to ditch Fedora 41 and Tumbleweed and install OpenMandriva Rome, and I’m also using CachyOS on a gaming laptop.
I am impressed with the stability and speed of this distribution, as well as the openness of its developers and users.
It’s a shame that openMadriva is so unpopular in Poland. I would like to contribute to the development and popularization of this distribution. Once, using Arch, I used to build some packages in AUR, although I am not a programmer (but I work in IT). I might try my hand at openMandriva.
Once again, welcome to everyone It’s good to feel at home
