Thank you, that’s very good to know. I may start updating ROME once again, after all.
I woke up and started brave from the command line. Here is the error message when it crashed.

Of course, no crash report is written and the directory is indeed empty. /home/wilson/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Crash Reports/attachments/
contains nothing.
I went over to the Brave forum and posted about the issue. I don’t see where it is effecting others.
Just a follow up. Is this happening only to people running znver1, or does anyone on x86_64 have this issue? We need to know.
x86_64
gnome wayland
brave-keyring-1.17-1.noarch
brave-browser-nightly-1.80.3-1.x86_64
I haven’t had a Brave crash in probably a few months.
From everything I have seen, this only happens on znver1.
I have crashing Brave on x86_64, sometime couple times in a row.
If you have Reporting enabled
you can go to:
brave://crashes/
to see if brave logged any crashes
you can also launch it from command line to try and determine the root cause with the following:
No experiments, no extensions, no GPU acceleration
brave-browser -n --args --no-experiments --disable-extensions --disable-gpu
If all works well and nothing crashes try enabling different parts one by one until a crash happens, i.e. enable GPU acceleration first, then extensions, then experiments
Also, it would help knowing your exact brave version brave://version
as well as OM environment and versions if applicable.
I have:
Brave: 1.77.101 Chromium: 135.0.7049.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Operating System: OpenMandriva ROME 25.04
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.9.0
Kernel Version: 6.15.0-desktop-0.rc2.3omv2590 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
And haven’t experienced any crashes, granted Brave is not my day to day and I don’t have any extensions installed.
I do have reporting enabled and it has sent a lot of them since this started on March 2, 2025. I just can’t open them to see what they say and post it here for our devs.
By the way, I have all extensions off and no graphic acceleration and it still crashed while I was posting.
@WilsonPhillips can you check it on live iso with x86_64?
@AngryPenguin I can and will. Here is another copy and paste from the terminal.

The ISO is writing to the thumbdrive.
Just a note, I normally don’t have much of an issue with this crashing, as it only seems to happen right after I start up. Since I don’t do that very often I don’t worry about it. But this morning, I decided to make this my focus for the day and fired it up from the command line.
@AngryPenguin I am on the live environment right now. Several restarts and no crashes.

Several restarts and reboots of the live usb and not a single crash of brave. I have to say it is a znver1 thing. The question is, can it be fixed without a reinstall?
I hope not, because that means that my issue is something else, I will also try to get some crash reports back at home. I have also a OMLx x86_64 installed inside qemu virtual machine and no single crash there (configuration is synced between native and vm, so same extensions etc.).

So, it is effecting x86_64 as well as znver1.
@grafi this thread already existed, so I moved your thread into this one.
