I found that it tends to crash more right after I restart the PC.
If it is not crashing by tomorrow. Let’s let @bero tell you what he wants you to upgrade first.

Is it crashing?
I saw this thread and had hopes that it might help, but no. It made no difference.
No crashes whatsoever. Solid as a rock. I haven’t used Brave much since updating it because I just have been home very little. But I left my laptop on with Brave running the entire time.
Updated to brave 1.76.80
No issues or crash since this update.
@WilsonPhillips do you have the same result ?
I just had a crash a few minutes ago.
I have a Ryzen 5800 APU in my laptop, I’ll try installing cooker, rome and rock on a spare drive to see if I have different behaviors with any of these. Will report in a few days.
Okay, I’ll go back to what I wrote. I’ve just had 2 crashes while Brave was working perfectly since its update. By the way, the browser crashed 2 times on… the OM forum
I don’t think the site matters. I can simply open the browser and leave it sitting at the New Tab page and it can crash from there.
@WilsonPhillips did you tried to uninstall and reinstall brave ? and in between remove unused packages via OM welcome ?
I have not. If I recall correctly, I installed from the command line. I may try removing it and reinstalling it later this afternoon.
Meanwhile my 5800X on ROME is running brave perfectly fine, was open under heavy loads from 9AM to 7PM today, also saw no problems with ROCK 6.0 yersterday. Did not try rock 5.0 nor cooker, but since cooker repos are getting synced to ROME I will tomorrow.
Version 1.76.81 Chromium: 134.0.6998.166 (Official Build) unknown (64-bit)
Oh, forgot to mention I am using the flatpak version. I will try the OM package tomorrow. I think this might be a bug introduced by a chromium when compiling for zenvr1 (amd cpus) and not a generic target.
I have not had a crash since the latest Brave update. Not saying it is fixed though.
While I haven’t had issues with Rome at all, I’m setting up Rock 6.0 from the iso on an older PC that I built years ago, and Brave just started crashing on me randomly. I’m hoping that, once the official release of Rock 6.0 comes out and I can update/upgrade my system, that the problem will resolve. My laptop with Rome is my main computer, so it’s not much of an issue. I just figured I’d update the thread in case anyone hasn’t reported the issue on Rock yet.
I am now running Brave v1.76.82 with no issues. But keep in mind I haven’t done a distro-sync in a long while. My last distro-sync was 28 FEB 2025 at 3:51 PM Central (US). I’m very apprehensive to do a distro-sync now with folks still encountering random/frequent Brave crashes.
If it helps at all, I’ve been updating my Rome system fairly often and have no problems with Brave. The only issue I have it is with Rock 6.0 on another computer, but I think that’s because 6.0 hasn’t officially released, so updating from that iso doesn’t seem to be working.
I have not had a crash in several days.
Brave continues to crash randomly but less than before… It stills usable without making me a brain hemoragy
I went about a week without a crash and then it crashed 4 times in a minute this morning.
Welp, I won’t be updating ROME until that stops. I can update Brave all I want, it seems, and never suffer a crash.
I had it happen to me while on kernel 6.13.10, but it does not happen on 6.14.
