Thanks for your reply…

As additional info, I tried to install 4.3 from disk instead of going the upgrade route…the live startup failed with a frozen screen before GUI was initialised to final screen , where the screen icons appears…

No other users are reporting “Can not find” these packages.

You may be over complicating things.

The packages exist for any users using the repos that were installed form the OM Lx 4.3 ISO.

You have source repo (SRPMS) instead of main/release repo enabled. You won’t find packages like pipewire-pulse or pulseaudio-server in SRPMS repo because they are not source packages. They are a part of source packages. Source packages are for people building packages not people installing packages, there is a big difference.

These are the repos installed automatically by the OM Lx 4.3 ISO (They are not intended to be disabled):

$ dnf repolist
repo id                                                                                          repo name
rock-updates-x86_64                                                                              OpenMandriva Rock - x86_64 - Updates
rock-x86_64                                                                                      OpenMandriva Rock - x86_64

In the SRPMS main repo: Index of /rock/repository/SRPMS/main/release/

You find only pipewire for pipewire and pulseaudio for pulseaudio. These:

pipewire-0.3.44-1.src.rpm
pipewire-0.3.45-2.src.rpm

pulseaudio-15.0-4.src.rpm

Note: When you .src.rpm instead of just .rpm there is an important difference.

Where if you look in the default Rock main repo: Index of /rock/repository/x86_64/main/release/

You will see all the individual pipewire and pulseaudio package listed.

User information: Using om-mirror-selector.sh -m is deprecated we use Mirrorbits now. Mirrorbits automatically uses metadata from abf-downloads.openmandriva.org and automatically will download the latest package from your mirror OR if you mirror does not have that then Mirrorbits defaults to downloading directly from abf-downloads.openmandriva.org. Thus ensuring that when user updates system they are always getting the latest packages.

Separate issue.

Please open a new thread in English/Support with a descriptive title and enough information so someone will be able to help. Information like trying to install from what media? DVD? USB flash drive? How did you download the iso file? How did you copy the iso file to the installation media? Did you check checksums?

Edit: Also while I am functioning as moderator please post code as code.

@toerag this should correct your issue. Open Konsole and run this first:

$ sudo dnf config-manager --set-disabled rock-x86_64-source

Then open “Software Repository Selector” and select Main so it looks like this.

Note: “Software Repository Selector” has additional repositories with additional software. Read the explanation for each. Non-free includes software the is illegal in some countries, user is responsible if you choose to select Non-free. Note also repos for some 3rd party software like Google Chrome. User is responsible for 3rd party software selections.

Ok Ben…Have sound using pipewire on OMV 4.3.

I backed up my /home and cleared down the drive, did a complete reinstall using 4.2 disk, and updated from repos then restored the /home partition.

I think I still have a hardware prob unrelating to sound, but am able to sort that out without too much problem.
The main problem of no sound using pipewire-pulse has been resolved. Many thanks for your input.

Terry.

I have archived your emails for future use…thanks again Ben.
