Set course for 3.03 release

It isn’t stopped here. I rarely have a problem downloading OM ISO’s.

I can say that I believe ISO 1512 is the most stable LXQt ISO available anywhere in OpenMandriva and is most likely better than ISO 1300 was. 1300 was the previous LXQt ISO.

The following is one users experience:

“In my experience a Lx 3.03beta ISO is a lot easier to work with today than the Lx 3.02 ISO is (or Lx 3.01, or LX 3.0). Though technically Lx 3.03beta is beta and Lx 3.02 is GA or Final ISO for that release. So to me the Lx 3.03beta ISO I would consider to be more stable based on my own experience and knowledge. This is because these releases are primarily Lx 3 with the most up to date packages at that time. Hence Lx 3.02 would be better than Lx 3.01 but Lx 3.03 would be better than either simply because of a vast number of bug fixes, security updates, patches applied, and so on. I believe this would be true for any user.”

Edit: Users name withheld at users request.

ISO 1530: installer ok in both way.

I have installed from ISO menu.
Test in virtualbox.

No problem here too (from terminal)

Yes but also in my experience if for any reason you have to suspend the download (net breakdown or anything may occur) ABF doesn’t allow resume.

PS>
FWIW this is an old issue, already reported.

I haven’t done this in a while but I use DownThemAll in Firefox and I used to be able to pause and resume downloads from ABF with it. Don’t know if using this would help if downloads are stopped by what ever is stopping jjm’s downloads. Maybe worth a try? It’s no secret that it is better for ISO and package downloads to not interrupt the download.

Thanks for all.
DownThemAll installed.
I must “negociate” bandwith with my son, evenings is he player!

Edit
DTA is activated.
When a download starts, DTA is it started automatically by Firefox?

No not automatically started in Firefox. User has to select DTA or Firefox uses it’s own Download Manager. When I do downloads I right click on what I want and in the context menu I select “DownThemAll”. Screenshot:

Which opens the DTA Download Manager where you can select where you want to download the file to and select to start download. Screenshot:

Then there will be I guess you could call it a progress box. Screenshot:

Hope this is helpful.

Edit: The “Save file” would use Firefox’s download manager.

Just did a test with DownThemAll and it is not possible to Pause downloads at least not from ABF. I don’t know if it will help this situation or not. It may be faster than Firefox download manager.

I confirm that resuming isn’t possible from ABF (I don’t know why however). This is the reason why sometimes I temporarily put the isos on the Omv CMS server, which offers the resume possibility, to let people download them conveniently.
Obviously, we cannot store all the isos there, due to lack of space.

  • if you experience any issue, please report it here

Build 1512 and sha1sums added

EDIT2:
The links above are no longer available (11/07/17)

Thanks, but so far Cox Communications reports “Sorry, the website test2574 cannot be found”.

Unless I did something wrong. Or is the link correct?

# cat /etc/hosts

127.0.1.1 ben79-pc

DTA is “super”, but ABF less!

Merci.

So my input wasn’t useless but did not help the original problem at all. This is a issue I’d like to see addressed. Not sure what to do about it but at some point it will be discussed with our ABF maintainers.

The links and the line in /etc/hosts are correct. You might try to flush your dns cache:
systemctl restart nscd

Merci jcl.

No luck. Maybe Cox Communications is blocking for some reason?

Edit: I don’t really need this as the ABF downloads work OK here.

    wget -c http://test2574/OpenMandrivaLx.3.02-LXQt.x86_64_B1512.iso
    wget -c [CTL MAJ C]

Ce qui va donner :
wget -c http://test2574/OpenMandrivaLx.3.02-LXQt.x86_64_B1512.iso

The only reason I see is that the link is http, not https because I did the things as simple as possible (that is: too quickly). I could try to force https in some way.

Just to verify the hypothesis, could you try to download the build 153O here (no need to modify /etc/hosts in this case).

EDIT: link removed

That works.

So I have to change the way to proceed. I will remove the link above.

wget -c http://test2574/OpenMandrivaLx.3.02-LXQt.x86_64_B1512.iso

Merci beaucoup.
