I am interested in dual-booting the OpenBSD operating system alongside OpenMandriva. I’ve downloaded the 7.9 release of OpenBSD and part of the installation procedure is to use the OpenBSD tool signify to verify the downloaded image. This tool is available on OpenBSD of course, and also as a package on a few Linux distributions, but it doesn’t seem to be available on OpenMandriva.
OpenBSD was one of Lunduke’s OS recommendations which is why I’m taking a look now. It’s not unreasonable to expect that a number of other OpenMandriva users might be interested in trying it out as well. Having this as an official package would be nice so users don’t have to compile signify themselves.
I am more than happy to file that package request for you, but I would prefer you give it a shot first. That way, you will get the notifications as progress is made on it. The first one is hard, but the second one is a piece of cake.
Give it a try and let me know if you still need me to do it for you.
Hi there. I’m not in any rush, as I have an install of Devuan with its signify-openbsd package. It would be nice to have signify on OpenMandriva, but it’s not critical for me.
