Hello Team!
I just had a quick question. How close are we to the release of omlx 6. Not rushing anyone. Just would like to know. I plan on using the sable version as soon as it releases.
The exact date is not specified, but it should be in the next few days.
It’s ready when it’s ready
I know
My system bricked yesterday, so I had to install a different distro since the reinstall was unsuccessful. I’m just waiting on OMLX 6 to be released
What was the problem with the unsuccessful reinstall?
If you used a current image, that’s what the release candidates for 6.0 are… So if there’s a problem (maybe unique to your hardware), we’d better try to fix it before the release…
I did a reinstall of Rome but the metadata failed because of the current downloads from cooker to Rome
I reinstalled last night, this morning. Just checking.

Did you download the latest ISO? It should be from Feb 19
The X86_64 shows today’s date. Feb 21
It was yesterday at some point. I will try again this evening when I get home.
The repos did come up, probably after you gave up.
Lol. Probably. Did I see that there is going to be an i3wm spin?
Yeppers!
Well then I guess I know what my main DE will be. Lol
I generally use i3wm as it works better for me than KDE and I already have config files setup
I might actually go with Rome xfce, instead of KDE since KDE does not play well with my Nvidia set up
My Rome machine just started a big update (1018 packages) so…
I’ll take a look at it after the update is complete.
Edit - well, it’s a new 6.13 kernel, new glibc and a ton of plasma updates.
Hopefully we’re close to the big sync event.
