Please have also a look to checklist HERE.
Testing is mandatory for all OpenMandriva users. All bug fixing will take place during development.
Test it now, fix it now, or else!
For something new and freaking different there is a new package manager to try called dnfdragora that is more or less similar to rpmdrake kind of a little bit.
First install in VBox or on hardware ISO 2348 then update it:
# dnf --refresh upgrade
Then do this:
# dnf install python-yaml lib64yui-mga8-qt dnfdragora
Then go to Application Launcher>Tools>System Tools>Install and Remove Software and play/test until you are exhausted.
There is a utility in dnfdragora to manage repositories. Remember that for now we’re using Cooker repos. That means there is no reason to enable updates repos you only need “release” repos. For more on repos for Cooker see this (Or else!). Also the 4.0 repos won’t work at all and can be disabled.
Fixed here:
Are OMV 4.0 users going to count on tools like MCC, OM-Welcome, and others like what are available at previous releases?
Yes om-wecome (work in progress), no mcc.
PS>
om-cc also work in progress btw.
It’s always a good idea to read the Release Notes.
The HERE is the link to our wiki
but we are aware it’s suffering of some slow in loading pages lately
For everyone’s convenience I’ll copy/paste the Checklist here below.
So you can do the same and provide your feedbacks.

Well just an example, you got it
Not able to download OM LX 4.0 from https://abf.openmandriva.org/platforms/cooker/products/4/product_build_lists/2348. Don’t know why. Is there an alternative link to download it?
At the moment not, but please try again later or tomorrow as someone had issue too (and someone not, like me). It may work by luck
How are you downloading?
Maybe try from command line:
$ aria2c http://file-store.openmandriva.org/api/v1/file_stores/a9f4ac50a605995d43e80b320963aee6aa217eba
Post-edit: I just tried the above here and it downloaded correctly:
[ben79@ben79-pc Downloads]$ ls -lh
total 2.3G
-rw-rw-r-- 1 ben79 ben79 2.3G Dec 22 20:51 OpenMandrivaLx.4.0-alpha.20181219-plasma.x86_64.iso
-rw-rw-r-- 1 ben79 ben79 86 Dec 22 21:58 OpenMandrivaLx.4.0-alpha.20181219-plasma.x86_64.iso.md5sum
-rw-rw-r-- 1 ben79 ben79 94 Dec 22 21:58 OpenMandrivaLx.4.0-alpha.20181219-plasma.x86_64.iso.sha1sum
[ben79@ben79-pc Downloads]$ sha1sum -c OpenMandrivaLx.4.0-alpha.20181219-plasma.x86_64.iso.sha1sum
OpenMandrivaLx.4.0-alpha.20181219-plasma.x86_64.iso: OK
[ben79@ben79-pc Downloads]$ md5sum -c OpenMandrivaLx.4.0-alpha.20181219-plasma.x86_64.iso.md5sum
OpenMandrivaLx.4.0-alpha.20181219-plasma.x86_64.iso: OK
Similar problem then.
I’ve tried with aria2c -c file but it just kept restarting download from the beginning
Now trying wget -c file …
A little better with wget but no luck. After downloading 1.5GB or more I always get a
reading error at byte ...
@adelson.oliveira devs are at work to fix the problem.
@adelson.oliveira now you’ll be able to dowload the ISO at SourceForge
Just downloaded and booted in live mode and there are already 476 packages to update, including the kernel itself!
It is beautiful, and it seems some graphical issues have been solved although OM LX 4.0 errata still have notes on this. In fact, OM LX 3.03 live CD required blacklisting nouveau modules (errata 3.03 and 4.0) to boot on this hybrid graphic laptop and now everything goes simply fine without any boot editing. Also, a touchpad issue related to this mobo (GI5CN5E) seems to be over too.
Notice that primary settings on localization, keyboards, etc, doesn`t appear at this live version, will it be included in next releases?
Another question, if I install this alpha release will I have to do a fresh installation of the final release?
Thanks everybody for this release.
OM LX 4.0 live CD seems to freeze upon rebooting …
Downloaded from SourceForge and tried in live mode only.
Does iso burns on usb stick → YES
Does the grub/boot screen appears → YES
Does the options in grub/boot screen works → Installation don’t works
Does ISO boot to multi-user.target → what it means ?
Does ISO boot to graphical.target → what it means ?
Does autologin for live user works → how is possible autologin using live?
Does default graphical desktop is useable (basics, like menu, file manager, web browser)→ YES. More detail: menu, file manager, Firefox works.
I don’t find localization for keyboard but I think it’s normal in alpha candidate.
