OK to dsync (upgrade) ROME/rolling (2024-06-03)

Hello,

  • OpenMandriva Lx version:

ROME (ROME uses rolling repositories)

  • Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):

Plasma6, Plasma5, LXQt

  • Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):

OK to dsync users systems after latest ROME major upgrade

  • Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):

It is OK to upgrade users ROME Plasma5 and LXQt systems IF user has upgraded previously following the instructions here. If you have not upgrade with those instructions yet you will need to do so at this time.

Normal upgrade instructions for any Cooker or ROME system in Konsole or other terminal:

sudo dnf --allowerasing --refresh dsync 2>&1 | tee rome-dsync.log.txt

sudo dnf autoremove 2>&1 | tee rome-autoremove.log.txt

sudo dnf clean all

Do not use Discover or dnfdragor to upgrade your ROME/rolling system, they use the wrong command.

Note: The dsync and autoremove commands create the obvious .log files which you can post in this forum or in OM Issues if you encounter some problem. You will want to have the log files if you post about a problem.

First post edited to reflect that this has now been tested on ROME Plasma6 as well as Plasma5 and LXQt.
