New installation (ROME 23.08)

Hi just installed Rome Edition of Mandriva, for the first time, my neofetch info are:

This is the first time that I use openmandriva, as standard I use Debian SID

I don’t find any documentation aroud on how set up Samba, NFS and Snapper rollout

There are any other indication for a post install?

The first thing when a new user has an issue is to look in the documentation for OMLx. OpenMandriva wiki and Forum Resources guide.

If you don’t find what you are looking for try an Internet search (googling). One can find out a lot from documentation or forum posts at other Linux distros. If user finds something written for another distro but you have some doubt ask at OpenMandriva Chat.

For serious technical issues and package/feature requests please file a bug report here.

There is Flapak support but not Snapper. Do not see anything in Wiki or Resources Index regarding Samba or NFS. That would mean someone from community needs to step up and write those.

I don’t use either Samb of NFS. I would think for NFS the standard tutorials like this or this might work.

For Samba maybe this or this.

Or maybe some user here will help or you find something better with internet search. Again we could use someone to step up and write articles for how to use these in OMLx.

Remember that the package manager for OMLx is dnf. dnf search can usually find correct package if the name is different in some other distro.

Search Command

Command: search

Aliases: se

dnf [options] search [--all] <keywords>...
Search package metadata for keywords. Keywords are matched as case-insensitive substrings, globbing is supported. By default lists packages that match all requested keys (AND operation). Keys are searched in package names and summaries. If the --all option is used, lists packages that match at least one of the keys (an OR operation). In addition the keys are searched in the package descriptions and URLs. The result is sorted from the most relevant results to the least.
