Need Opinions and/or Suggestions For Which AMD card To Buy

Illinois Secretary of State’s office does licenses in my state. The nice thing about not having a DMV like in other states is spotting the scammers becomes very easy.

“Your driver’s license is being revoked by the Illinois DMV immediately unless you pay us for your moving violations and provide the required information.”

Followed by a bogus phone number or URL claiming to be a hotline to the Illinois DMV, of which there is no such thing.

I currently have a RX 6750XT and also having problem with display port output sometimes getting confused which doesn’t happen on other distros or windows. Only occurs when watching videos on Youtube with any chrome based browser like Brave. SO far the solution is to power off the monitor and then power it back on to remove the frozen screen effect. Not sure if HDMI does the same sense I don’t have a HDMI cabal to use for testing. Seems to happen randomly and one or twice a week. You may have a different experience, but figured you should know if you can avoid that card.
As for how much power you need for gaming, using Palworld as an example of how much VRAM you need, I suggest 16gb or more as even Palworld as of last update consumes all 12gb of my 6750XT. Used to only use about 4gb to 5gb, but that update did something weird.

Yeah I’m probably going to go with 16GB because I am unable to get a sweet deal on the 12GB. I don’t play any AAA games newer than 10 years old so it’s kind of overkill, but it will future proof me for awhile.

What ever you buy do not buy AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT if hard gaming considered . The card is an awesome working horse for video production.
It has fantastic ratio when it boils down to size / quality of produced video files. Yet when it comes to gaming while streaming it sucks, because of the bottleneck of PCIe 4.0 x16 (in x8 mode. So even if fps are decent, the picture will be choppy while obs run in the background. In that case RX 7700 XT is much better option, yet it comes with higher price tag.
When you play for your self there is no problem even with kinda new demanding games

PS im currently using RX 7600 XT

Looks like I can get a RX 6800 for around $300 + shipping and tax on eBay.

I guess I’ll just do that. Upgrading higher does not make sense because of the PCIe 4.0 slot and the 6 year old CPU.
