Lutris error 256 in ge-proton on Far Cry 4

  • Cannot run on internal ext4 hdd Far Cry 4 on Lutris, gets error number 256, and ‘/media/david/Extra’ is not owned by you and libudev.so.1 has an unexpected DT_SONAME.

  • _Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):

  • _OpenMandriva Lx ROME, Athlon 3000g 8GB Ram 220 GB of storage(internal) 457GB (internal)

Any help with testing would be appreciated whether one is technically proficient or a very non-technical user. The more people and more hardware we can get involved the better we can make OMLx releases and packaging. We do a lot of testing in VM’s as well. Developers tend to use Qemu, most user level testers use VirtualBox.

Some hopefully helpful suggestions:

I searched on another distro’s forums and got the answer, i just needed to chown -R $USER /my/directory,
would be nice if i the hard drive automatically set to my user like in other distros.

Was this external drive used in a previous distro, and did you create folders on it from that other distro?

+1 on this during my own migration, most popular desktop distributions are using UID 1000 for the first user instead of 1001.

Yep! I made the folders on Ubuntu and Fedora.

Cool. Just letting everyone know that UID/GID differences are a thing regardless of the distro.
