How to change the keyboard layout

Hello,

  • OpenMandriva Lx version:

24.12 (ROME) Rolling

  • Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):

KDE

  • Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):

I have an unusual language setup with the language settings set to Swiss but the keyboard is German (the Swiss keyboard is a pain).

I’m pretty sure I set it up that way on installation but it didn’t work and now I need to change the keyboard layout. But neither the Keyboard not the Language setting seem to haven option to change the keyboard layout.

So how do you do it? I hope I don’t have to reinstall everything.

  • Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):

Update 1

I found a reference to /etc/default/keyboard and indeed the wrong keyboard was set up. I changed that but it didn’t help.

This setting doesn’t work for you? It’s how you can add keyboard layouts that may be missing.
