"Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences."

Any state that is, say, enforcing federal firearms laws, is NOT respecting the 2A.
Any state that is, say, enforcing drug/narcotics laws is NOT respecting the 10A.
…and wasn’t some guy jailed for posting jokes about the 2020 election?
Oh, an don’t forget that Benghazi scapegoat, got incarcerated for making a film critical of Islam.

That’s why places that have almost no Jews are such Utopian societies, like China, and much of Africa, right?

Things are not so cut and dry, Vannax. People are complex and so is history. That was an extremely surface-level and emotionally driven take, give it some more time.

In Canada, Yuri Bezmenov’s defection and testimony was actually taught in high school. It was noted as the event which touched off the cold war and revealed Russia to be less-than-friendly and not a particularly trustworthy ally, when he tipped off the RCMP to the presence of soviet spies all over Canada. At first they didn’t believe him, if I remember correctly. Perhaps they no longer teach it, I can’t be sure.

Where freedom of speech and violence are concerned, always remember that when people are not able to communicate what they need to say with their words they will always resort to violence.

It not the Jews per se we are not antisemite here.

Oh You can be black ginger have asian type slanted eyes and still be a Jew.

So It not work in a way you described.

It is not about Jews per se.

But Black Rock Larry Fink is certenly a Jew
Fink was born on November 2, 1952.[7][8] He grew up as one of three children in a Jewish family[9] in Van Nuys, California.

As well as Rockefeller and Yuval Noah Harari very dangerous influential man. He is closely tight with World Economic Forum and Klaus Shfab

Does that mean I will run around and scream remove Jews because they are bad.

Fuck NO it would be sick and moronic

Let me turn that table for you? Canadian government establish some dystopian environment in your country. Does that mean Canadian are bad mindless robots and we should delete them? NO It is stupid

So if a few crazy wealthy therefore, extremely influential people happens to be a part of some ethnic group / nation it does not mean we should blame the rest of them for every bad thing on this planet.

By the way, people who do bad things should be held accountable PERSONALLY - not delete / killed.
It does not matter if you are John Doe, ceo of a company or politician

If anyone want to frame me as anti jewish anti german anti russian ukrainian (put whole nation here) then that someone makes a stupid mistake.

WOW That should be taught everywhere. If you know the mechanism of disassembling society works then you are less prone it

I relocated from the UK to Brazil 21 years ago so in some ways I should be enjoying the left wing mess British citizens are now subjected to but it’s no real fun watching your birth country decline at such a rate. You could also argue my move hasn’t exactly achieved much politically since the recent persecution of ex president Bolsonaro coupled with the censorship of social media and multiple installations of Chinese facial recognition cameras whose stated objective is to ‘protect the public’. The upside is Brazil is so big I can choose to avoid most of the mess and live in an area populated by people with a similar viewpoint. Most of Europe is totally lost and I’d never go back full time.

I would take his comment as sarcasm.

China is not a utopia, it is a nation of people that are being oppressed my an authoritarian regime. By “much of Africa” I assume he means the impoverished and dangerous parts, just as examples of places that don’t have Jewish people. I don’t know the religious demographics of Africa, so I’m just guessing on that part.

Yea he’s probably being sarcastic, yet his sarcasm is not aimed all too well. I believe or to be precise I tend to believe that, at this place (OM forum) we will not find many fans of isms. Like antisemitism, communism or fascism, racism.
Saying all that, I will not pretend that there is no pattern of professional victimhood among (broadly understood, Jews).

Say anything that some public figure who happened to be Jew do not like. Boom you are antisemite. Do same with any Muslim boom you are Islamophobe.

Mind you Arabs (that are mostly Islamic) as well Jews are happened to be part of larger Semitic group of people, nations.

I do not hate neither of those people or group. But I will not defend them just because general population do so without thinking twice.

Especially If they do some horrifying stuff, for example in Gaza stripe and still plays victim.

Why no Muslim country want to take Gaza refugees, that’s another story.
A story worth to look in to.

Yes, it was sarcasm.
I just find it disgusting that some people hold an entire ethnicity responsible the behaviour of some of its members; and even worse, blame the behaviour of people from one ethnicity on the behaviour of people of another ethnicity.
You see this when wokies blame “white supremacy” or “systemic racism” for problems within the black demographic, or some other weirdos blame “the Jews” for problems in the white demographic. In both cases it is basically pretzel-logic used to justify a demented world view, a sort of refusal to hold people responsible for their own behaviour, and shift responsibility to “the other.”

I agree that freedom of speech is indeed being able to speak without fear of consequences such as you mentioned.

I do not think someone needs to employ (as in giving a job) someone who has an inherently evil view of the world (someone who is a criminal, supports criminal activity made by others, and in my view, even do/support something immoral).

If one likes red and I don’t, that is fine. You can like other colors. Problem starts when someone thinks it is okay to dehumanize people, and expects no backlash from it. And worse, kills the ones exposing their crooked way of thinking.

It is a battle of good versus evil. Always has been.

(May God comfort Charlie’s wife and kids, and bring up many more Charlie Kirks around the world. Amen.)

Folks, let me share something about me. I first discovered Linux decades ago while i was still living at home (got married in 1990 and moved out so around there but it’s hazy), but at the time it was a little too…cobbled?..for my tastes. Fast forward to around 2014 and being bored and disappointed with the foibles of Windows, I tinkered yet again. But it was around 2019 when I finally felt like Linux was comfortable enough to use it full time. I started hopping hard, and after a while I settled on Mint. And there’s nothing wrong with Mint. A very nice distro.

I, as many others, have found a refuge in Linux because of its freedom from politics and judgement of others concerning what i do with it. And, as many others have, I’ve grown disgusted as that “feel” has slowly vaporized. It seems that Linux devs and organizations have caught the same disease that mainstream media has…“what I feel about things is what you should be feeling, or you’re wrong and I hate you and I will try to destroy you”. It’s made me feel like a stranger in a strange land, instead of the happy native I used to be.

And then Lunduke led me to examine the distros and devs who have proclaimed “non-wokeness”, likewise leading me to your group. Yes, I’d heard of OpenMandriva many times over the years, but I had always preferred the coddling of Mint because my OS is not my life. I just want to get stuff done with the least amount of fuss as possible.

But because of your stand in the last days about the right and wrong of things in the Charlie Kirk tragedy, I’m going to make OpenMandriva my new OS. I’ll install it on a T430 that’s currently unemployed and see if I can settle in. I believe in supporting good, commonsense people, on a good, commonsense mission, so I believe that this effort is well worth the time and trouble. Thanks for the platform, didn’t intend to hijack the thread, but I just thought a little “I believe what you’re all about is good” is helpful at times.

I am honored that my post contributed to someone joining our community. That is a big part of why I bother posting here. In order to maintain a good community, we must consistently be willing to put in the work to exercise & construct it.

Thank you for contribution, and welcome to OpenMandriva.

Sarcasm doesn’t always come across in text messages. It is best to flag it as sarcasm if that is the intent.

I also use Linux Mint as my main distro and I’ve actually been running XLibre on it for a few weeks. So far, it’s been treating me well and I haven’t had issues thus far.

I’m old enough to remember when the left were cancelling people for making the OK sign.
The left cancels Charlie Kirk for speech they don’t like, by murdering him, and then proceed to dance on his grave.
Jimmy Kimmel gets fired by a private company for lying about the murder and insulting 1/2 of the American electorate.
The left start screeching “But muh free speech! Fascism! Reeee!”

Ya can’t make this shit up.
