Favorite Email Clients?

I don’t have a reason to look further than Thunderbird.
It is exactly what I need, and is maintained by a solid team with a clear path forward.

Anybody else seeing a lot of freezing in Betterbird? It keeps freezing on me all the time. Flatpak and dnf installed versions.

I make do with Webmail, where you get what you’re given. but I can definitely understand how many could need the customization that you can get from a good email client. It would be nice to see LibreOffice or OpenOffice offer an email client that can be nicely integrated with their office suites.

I have some serious doubts about Mozilla’s clear path forward.

From what I’ve seen they don’t have one. If the court rules against Google Mozilla loses 85% of it’s funding and I haven’t seen any plans as to how they will replace it. And the expert opinions seem to lean toward Google losing. Not to mention they are no longer a software company, they re-branded themselves as a political activism company last year. So there’s no way the software won’t suffer if that’s their focus now. That’s not to even touch on the recent changes to the Firefox TOS. Total deal breaker there, I switched to Brave and removed Firefox from every device I have as soon as I heard about that.

Mozilla’s “clear path forward”:

Thundderbird is developed by MZLA Technologies, and it’s profitable.

In terms of robustness and usability, thunderbird hands down. Use it till fire bird days. I’m incapable to switch to anything else. all my data are in TB format and TB profile. Basically, I’m somewhat vendor lock in TB. Trying to propperly convert all this to something else … I’ve tried I failed.
And i really like TB as tool

betterbird is a drop-in replacement. it is a fork based in the eu -afaik- so eu regulations.
