Complete

That is the end of what I received in the terminal at installation.

I have no idea as to how to go about fixing this on my own. I get around it by using the Flatpak Converseen package, which works so long as I don’t try to access any files stored across the network, a limit of flatpaks, not OpenMandriva. This is not mission-critical for me. I just thought I would send in what I found when I tried to install and use it.

According to the Converseen web page, https://converseen.fasterland.net, 0.15.0.2 is the latest version.

Looks like the last time that package was built was 2021 so that would be out of date and the existing package would not work with current library packages. I notice some people have been working on it recently but it does not look ready to be built again. Also it is still the same version as you installed so it has not been updated.

I would ask OM devs on OM Chat if you want to dig in to this.

Yes, being out of date makes perfect sense. It probably got lost in the shuffle and few if any users would use it.

I never used OM Chat. Isn’t an invitation required?

OM-Chat

I think the main channels do not require an invite. But not sure. There are to many channels IMO. Main ones are

  1. OpenMandriva for saying hello and for users with problems.
  2. OpenMandriva Cooker is for developers.
  3. There is a OM Chat for I am not sure what, off topic chatting I suppose.

Upgraded version published to cooker extra repo. This will move down to ROME with the next update.

The upgraded version going to Cooker and then Rome sounds like a plan. I can wait for the experts to make certain there are no surprises. Thank you to everyone involved at all levels.

Thanks @DD15 for reporting this and @LeeTalbert for building the upgraded package.

converseen-0.15.0.2-1 is published to rolling/extra repositories. I decided to backport this package given the user request. I can verify that the package does install here in ROME x86_64. As for how well it works that will be up to you.

Edit: Also backporting this to Rock/6.0.

I removed the Flatpak Converseen package and installed the upgraded version for Rome. I am happy to report that it works as intended.

This is nuts, in a good sort of way. I have never seen such a fast response for any software issue. Thank you to all involved for everything.
