App image launcher does not load images

Hello,

  • OpenMandriva Lx version:
    Rome

  • Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):
    KDE

  • Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):
    My first go at the Rome install on metal. Installed app image launcher from the repo. The settings opened and the folder was selected for images. When app images were placed in the folder they would appear in the KDE app listing but would not run.

Also, apparently I installed the X11 version. Can the Wayland session be installed as well or do I need to reinstall?

Is multiple desktop environments an issue or am I able to have KDE, Cosmic, etc installed simultaneously?

    5800X3D 6800XT 64 Gigs DDR4 3600 NVME metal install

I do not know anything about this, In KDE Plasma you can use Alt>F2 to launch applications. You can file a bug report here. Select new issue>bug report.

sudo dnf in task-plasma6-wayland

Logout and select Plasma Wayland in lower left cornet of login screen.

It is or should be possible. For cosmic:

sudo dnf in task-cosmic

From openmandriva channel chat:

run sudo dnf --refresh install plasma6-workspace-wayland plasma6-kwin-wayland plasma6-libkscreen-wayland kf6-kidletime-wayland kf6-kwindowsystem-backend-wayland
then log out and in SDDM chose Plasma Wayland

For information: sudo dnf in task-plasma6-wayland does install all packages in that list. It actually installs 11 packages on a ROME P6 X11 system.
