Zoom on OM ROME

Hi All,

I am using OpenMandriva Lx version: 23.06 (ROME) Rolling for x86_64 and I need Zoom for my work.

The RPM package of Zoom doesn’t work with OM ROME but the flatpak version seems to work so far.

Below are how I install Zoom using flatpak

$ sudo dnf install flatpak
$ flatpak install flathub us.zoom.Zoom

To run zoom using flatpak
$ flatpak run us.zoom.Zoom

Zoom crashed on the first run, but after I run it the second time, everything seems to work so far.

If you don’t find what you are looking for try an Internet search (googling). One can find out a lot from documentation or forum posts at other Linux distros. If user finds something written for another distro but you have some doubt ask at OpenMandriva Chat.

Several of us in OM contributor group worked on this, communicating in OpenMandriva Chat. Conclusion: Use the Zoom package in Flatpak. FWIW this was our second go at trying to find a workaround for the Zoom Linux .rpm’s or the tar ball.
