Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):
Wifi does not start in LXQt desktop. I have to open SystemSettings5>Network>Connections and then wifi will start. I don’t select anything in Connections I just open it and it immediately begins to start the already setup in NetworkManager wifi connection.
Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):
I can’t believe this after what, a year and half, and user still has to install ‘networkmanager-applet’ (which is for GNOME not Qt, get it, LXQt desktop?)?
So anyway to have wifi start automatically in LXQt desktop you have to install ‘networkmanager-applet’. But for me it will not save wifi password, that is a serious flaw… (And yes I have saved the wifi password in the configuration editor, multiple times.)
So questions:
Can we get this fixed for Cooker hence OMLx 4?
Can we make this a dependency for task-lxqt for OMLx 3?
Do we have to have the GNOME networkmanager-applet package? No way to get the regular NetworkManager to work in LXQt desktop? This one amuses and baffles me.
I’ll post another thread about the not saving password for wifi if issue persists or I don’t find something with Internet search. Would be good to know if this issue affects/effects other users as well.
