O.K., I have put this one off for a while, because I just didn’t want to have to type all of this out.
I have an Emotiva stereo amplifier that is several months old now. It has a USB DAC. I can plug in the device and it is identified correctly. It works. The only problem is that the max volume is maybe 50% of what it should be. It might be little lower, but I have no way to know. I have been using an external DAC and it is fine, but where would I file a bug report for this? Whomever did the driver got it almost right.
Yes, I know this is not OM specific. It was the same on Tumbleweed. I just want to know where would one go to file such a bug report?
Would going to “Configure Volume Controls” in the upper right hand corner of your screenshot, and then checking the “Raise Max Volume” box do it for you?
I just filed a Kernel Bug Report with Alsa. I just needed to know where to go to file such a report. @bero gave me the address.
I have been using the external Schiit Modi+ analog stereo for the time being. I don’t know that the internal DAC would be better, but it would be less cables.
Schiit Audio makes some great products right here in the USA. I am not sure if they have anything left in California after they moved to Texas. They are constantly innovating. I also have the Lyr 3 that I used when I was basically all headphones all the time.
I have also been very impressed with this Emotiva BasX TA1 Stereo Preamp/DAC/Tuner With Integrated Amplifier and their Airmotiv XB2 Bookshelf Loudspeakers. They are made right up the road in Tennessee, USA.
