What are you using? I just tried ly, I had a really nice experience, I just wanna hop off of gdm, but not to sddm (since it crashed my sessions and am not really looking to fix it right now)
I am also using Ly, but currently it has some issues/conflict with XLibre (which is available on Cooker). Issue is that when you logging out from XLibre (X11) session you will not be able to switch back to Ly (for example to change session to something else). There is probably something related to occupy/conflicting with TTY2 or TTY3 which XLibre and Ly are using together by default. Or something releated to lease user session in XLibre itself. For Wayland / Hyperland session Ly works without an issue right now. There is also a new version of Ly available on project code repository, so it may be repackaged in OpenMandriva Cooker soon. I hope it will fix this issue. I am trying to also fix it by myself changing Ly configuration on systemd service parameters but still without a success.
For me, Ly is very nice, especially with Matrix animation in background.
