Warning regarding upcoming ROME Plasma5, Plasma6, and LXQt upgrade

Hello,

  • OpenMandriva Lx version:
    ROME

  • Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):
Plasma5, Plasma6, or LXQt (This probably pertains to ALL)

  • Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):

  • Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):
This is a result of the name change of the unsupported repository to extra. This is an instance when users want to select Y to accept the new .repo file. Other wise there will be dnf errors saying it can not access the unsupported repo. (Assuming user has unsupported enabled).

An alternative solution would be to edit the .repo file in use and change every instance of unsupported to extra. This can be easily done with Kate or Kwrite editors. To do this go to Edit>Replace then in the ‘Find’ line type unsupported and in the ‘Replace’ line type extra and select ‘Replace All’. I have not tested this but it should work.

Another alternative is to edit this section of the .repo file:

There are 3 lines that will have the word unsupported you need to change all of those to extra. You can do this with whatever editor you choose.

Note: The .repo file in use for ROME x86_64 is /etc/yum.repos.d/openmandriva-rolling-x86_64.repo. For ROME znver1 /etc/yum.repos.d/openmandriva-rolling-znver1.repo. If you are using aarch64 probably it is /etc/yum.repos.d/openmandriva-rolling-aarch64.repo.

Hi Ben:

I ran the recommended update procedure from Konsole today on two different 24.12 Rome desktop machines (znver1 and x86_64) and got the same list of posix warnings you showed above, but all processes completed without requiring further selection input.

Wondered if there is anything further I might need to do.

Thanks,
Mike

Just ignore. As you see the process finishes successfully.
