I also was talking about 2014.x.
I attached two xorg.conf files in the bug report. For me, blacklisting is not working on 2014.x.

Blacklisting + xorg generated by XFdrake = no gui
Blacklisting + xorg generated by nvidia-xconfig = no gui
Blacklisting without xorg.conf = nouveau

I’m using 2014.2, with a nVidia GTX 650, proprietary driver.
Problems: NONE.
Maybe I’m just being lucky. But up to this moment, my problems are with Lx3, not 2014.
