  1. Is booting OM Lx ISO’s from DVD deprecated? Should we try to fix this?

Hi, i think a priority thing to fix is ​​the management of shares on the local network and samba.
This prevents the distro from being used on a corporate and home network if you have a Nas.

Not sure but I do not think we have anyone in the contributor group that uses samba, NAS, or uses OM Lx as a business operating system. So we would need someone to bring things up with developers on IRC and to test this if/when it gets worked on. In ideal world we would need someone that uses these things to participate in development.

Meeting Log (2022-02-16)

  • Agreed: Booting OM Lx ISOs from DVD is deprecated.
  • Agreed: It is OK to mention workarounds for booting if the workaround has been tested.

The second one refers to booting OM Lx 4.3 from DVD. And the actual problem is not booting it is x11 plasma desktop loading but to users this just looks like “DVD Did not boot”. Because all they see is black screen with mouse cursor. And yes there are workarounds.

More seriously, please suggest new name for /unsupported and for the new archive repo.
Short and meaningful is welcome but also short and not necessarily meaning anything might work.
