…and all functions of LibreOffice are still there.

Also, perhaps another topic, I installed SoftMaker Office successfully and it runs… but its icons do not show up under Office on the menus…

That is normal and expected behavior. It is telling you that urpme needs exact package name there is no package called libreoffice. Removing:

$ sudo urpme libreoffice-common

Will remove a lot of them. If it does not remove all of the packages you want to remove then:

$ rpm -qa | grep libreoffice

Will tell you what is left to be removed.

Post-edit: urpme does not to my knowledge work with wild cards like ‘libreoffice*’. I don’t know if it will work with globs. But I don’t think it will work with globs.

@ben79 is right. Remember, you can always uninstall all packages with a given name for example

urpme libreoffice -a

Thanks @AngryPenguin I knew I was missing something on this.

So you’re saying the advice I got online was missing a “-a”?

OK, now tell me how to do it in OM4, where urpme no longer works… Please…

dnf remove something

Takes only a few minutes to read.

If on Plasma desktop right click on the Application Launcher icon in your menu panel and select ‘Edit Applications’ (aka: ‘KDE Menu Editor’) and add them there. You will need to know folder/directory where your software was installed and where it stores the icon files. (The icons may show up in one of the folders when you mouse click on the icon box in ‘KDE Menu Editor’.)

And let us all remember the:

concept. And don’t think anyone is being singled out. We all, including me, need to be reminded of this from time to time.
