Spotify on Rock 6.0

Hello,
I’m using OpenMandriva Lx 6.0, with Plasma 6.3.4

I’m new to OpenMandriva and would like to install Spotify.
I have gone via DNFdrake and have installed the Spotify (launcher) program OK.
When I click on this I get h=the Spotify logo in the Task Manager for about 2 seconds before it disappears and nothing else happens.
What do I do next ?- please be gentle, still learning Linux!
Pete

Welcome. Try to use Moonsync instead. This works in Spotfy and Youtube.

Don’t use Spotube yet.

Have rebooted a couple of times, this time I have an Install Spotify page from flathub with a window open : KIO - client Could not read file flatpak+https://dl.flathub.org/repo/appstream/com.spotify.Client.flatpakref

If I close this error window and download the file “com.spotify.Client.flatpakref” to Downloads,
ask DNFdrake to install it I get the error:
sudo dnf install /home/mandriva/Downloads/com.spotify.Client.flatpakref | tee /dev/null /root/.config/dnfdrake/log/last.log

Last metadata expiration check: 1:22:43 ago on Mon 28 Jul 2025 10:29:15 NZST.

No match for argument: /home/mandriva/Downloads/com.spotify.Client.flatpakref

Error: Unable to find a match: /home/mandriva/Downloads/com.spotify.Client.flatpakref

Sorry was typing as you replied.
I thought Rock 6 supported Flatpac. Which Moonsync file? or do I use the .tar.gz one?

Try installing the flatpak with FlatDrake.
Install link for flatpaks usually invoke Discover, which is junk.

Use the link on the dropdown arrow next to the Install button (or try the install button):

I believe that “dnf install” is not for use with Flatpaks.

Correct, you don’t use that for flatpaks.

Manual Install
Make sure you follow the setup guide for your Linux distribution before installing

flatpak install flathub com.spotify.Client
Run:
flatpak run com.spotify.Client

Have rebooted again and running the 2 lines of code again.

Could be a problem with the package upstream. Try again in a few minutes if it won’t install.
