Anyone presently or previously familiar with using software-based RAID with Lx 4.3?
I’m interested in implementing a RAID 1 array using 2 WD 6TB internal SATA HDD drives.
(I don’t want to install the operating system to boot from the array.)
mdadm vs lvm?
While I know of the included mdadmlvm CLI options, I’m not sure which approach would offer the preferable trade-offs, and I’m particularly drawn to the convenience of a GUI interface, preferably without having to go through a web-based solution to get one.
(BTW, I’m almost absolutely positively certain I’m not going to write my own.)
The KDE Partition Manager 21.12.2 included with Lx 4.3 does not provide RAID support.
From initial glimpses, these might be functional:
KVPM - KDE Volume and Partition Manager
Blivet-GUI - Fedora
Does anyone have any ideas and/or recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
