ROME don't upgrade on fresh install

Writing here because I don’t have the installation anymore to pick all the information to post on support.

  1. Fresh install ROME x11

2. Try to upgrade after install using correct commands.

3. When the packages are being installed screen just became black with the cursor blinking on top, but doesn’t answer any command. Stay like that forever.

4. If I shutdown and restart the DE doesn’t start anymore. I tried 3x to install and upgrade looking for mistakes. Same results.

It’s sad I can’t dedicate more time solving the problems this time so I’m going back to another distro for now. But I will leave here to give more information for tests. I will keep an eye on OpenMandriva and maybe try the Rock 7.0. This time I can’t commit more time. =(

Before ROME I tried Rock also. But I could not manage to Nvidia to work. Then I move d to ROME with the hope that things will work for me.

Bad for me, I just picked a new laptop without more research about drivers. I should have picked one pure AMD to use linux. My infos were outdated in my mind. =(

Perhaps this:

Using the latest ROME isos at ABF. (12/09/25)

Or:

Upgrading ROME(rolling) after Nov. 9, 2025 upgrade
