Rock 6.0 VLC new guy problems-- Solved

Hello,

Requirements:

I have Searched the forum for my issue and found nothing related or helpful
I have checked the Resources category (Resources Index)
I have reviewed the Wiki for relevant information
I have read the the Release Notes and Errata

OpenMandriva Lx version:

Rome 6.0

Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):

KDE

Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):

VLC shows installed with dnfdrake , but I cant seem to get it to run or find it , other than using “Whereis” and getting a location in /usr/lib64/vlc. Cant seem to get it to run

Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):

tried on several different laptops , Rome and Rock versions

I am most likely doing it wrong , but I tried to search forums and google and I failed. Any help would be nice. Thanks!!

Please show output of:
cat /etc/system-release

Postedit:
unless it’s Rome and 6.0

OpenMandriva Lx release 6.0 (Vanadium) Rock for x86_64 on my HP laptop

OpenMandriva Lx release 25.06 (Rome) Rolling for x86_64 on my T14 Gen3 Intel

edit … Rome doesn’t show it installed , I must have remebered incorrectly

Well , now I feel dumb. I must have stared at the screen for 20 minutes and didn’t see that VLC to install.

Thanks again for the help!!

You’re welcome.
No problem, we all feel dumb sooner or later :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
