Well, the problem is not the concept of CoC, that is just a strategy they use. This strategy of infiltration only works on weak communities that are not actively protecting themselves. The actual problem is leftism itself.

I am involved in other forums and organizational websites. Several of them have what you would call CoC, but we change the name of it and make them based.

One is called “Bannable Offences” and the rules are very strictly enforced. The BanHammer is swift, without mercy and there are no appeals. It allows us to have the community we want. It is hardly ever a problem we have to address because of the environment it creates. No leftist would ever feel comfortable or safe coming in.

(Real example)

You could for instance say:

Rule 1, Don’t be gay.

Rule 2 There are only 2 genders, male and female.

Rule 3, No complaining about the rules.

Just those 3 would keep the community safe from intrusion if properly policed. There are about 10 or 12 good ones you could add instead or in addition. Just make questioning them a bannable offence and you’re good.

It’s just an example of the strategy, I’m not saying you should or should not do it, just don’t think in your mind that CoC is the issue. The issue is leftism.

@grafi Don’t make the conversation about me, just read the words on the screen and formulate a response if you have one. You need to say why you disagree, not just that you do. Put a little effort into it. Saying “No” is not helpful to anyone else reading and does not add anything of value either way. It is okay for two people to have wildly different worldviews. Not a problem at all. I also think you misunderstood the Robert Conquest quote. It is just factually true as an observation.

I was wondering the same and then I remembered…this is the ‘Sway’ window manager guy who spent more time and effort spewing venom on hyprland project than working on his own. Btw swaywm doesn’t seem to have a CoC :thinking:
