The recommended CLI installation from the OM Rome notes does not find the program even if I initiate the command sequence from within the directory containing the file.
When I click on the downloaded file, the option to install it using Discover appears.
If I try to install it with Discover, the installation completes, the program title appears and launches from the OM launch menu, and asks for my password, but does not activate.
(The OM program launcher “Uninstall or Manage Add-Ons” option does nothing…
I have since removed the installation using the OM recommended console command.)
What would be the recommended installation alternative…
…can I somehow install this from the console?
Thanks.
Console reply is:

Can not load RPM file: RLinux6_x86.rpm.
Could not open: RLinux6_x86.rpm
Excellent question, I do not have a good answer without thinking over this and maybe doing some testing with your help.
Let’s start with exactly what I did vs. exactly what you did. First test was ROME P5 x86_64 VBox VM. This time I am using ROME P6 x86_64 VBox VM in order to test this in both P5 an P6. I went to this page and selected “Download page” and downloaded the 64 bit .rpm. Then in the VBox VM I opened Konsole and typed cd Downloads to cd to the folder where the downloaded file was. Then typed 'sudo dnf in RLinux6_x64.rpm` and the result was:
Can not load RPM file: RLinux6_x64.rpm.
Could not open: RLinux6_x64.rpm
Conclusions: This software install works in ROME P5 but not in ROME P6. So there are probably some dependencies needed in Plasma6 systems.
Next is something I realize is perhaps confusing to OMLx users but at this time we really, really, need people to tell us whether they are using P5 or P6. This will last until our OM devs remove P5 packages. That is supposed to be soon. In a small group like OM Community the meaning of soon can vary. If one key person has a family or job emergency, illness, or other issue things can be delayed.
I can get this to install if I download the .rpm in Konsole with wget. It works in Cooker P6 hardware system but in Cooker and ROME P6 VBox VM’s it will not open. No Konsole output, nothing in journal log so nothing to work on. My guess is this probably would work on ROME P6 hardware system.
This may be because VBox does not have modern graphic acceleration, not sure about that.
