Portmaster on Rock

Hello,

  • OpenMandriva Lx version:
    Latest Rock

  • Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):
    KDE

  • Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):
Portmaster will install and appear to work, but when starting the backend (core) it is unable to start iptables.

  • Relevant information (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):
Portmaster is an open source firewall application that allows you to control which applications are allowed to talk to the internet, etc.

Bug report.

And please put a link to your bug report here. The error message is telling what is wrong. I do know that the package iptables is not installed by default, So try installing that first. You can run this to see if it is or is not installed.

rpm -qa | grep iptables

I am pretty sure portmaster is not OpenMandriva software.

Edit: So maybe I was wrong initially about the bug report idea, I initially thought this was OM software. Users need to be more specific about this, it matters.

Well what do you know. That fixed it. Would help if I installed it. I just assumed the package pulled it in by itself or that it was installed by default.

All done here, and nothing to report.
