I haven’t investigated at kde.org yet. Same thing happened in openSUSE when updated to KApps 17.04 so this is probably an upstream feature “for our own good”… You’ll probably find you can’t use a lot of KDE apps like kwrite, kate, ect. as well.
I’m sure that’s what the persons who made the decision think. Some of us got in to Linux because it gave us the choice of how to manage our own systems. In that vein I’m sure there are ways to circumvent but as a QA person I’m going to live with it and work around it. Think about it though. For anyone with the knowledge to do things as root/su exactly what will we not continue doing as root/su with different tools. Nothing, not a damn thing. So it eludes me what has actually been fixed. I have seen zero problems in this, KDE, Fedora, or openSUSE forums caused by someone using Dolphin as root. Not saying it hasn’t happened but it certainly is not a common problem.
Aside: ben79 rummaging around asking “where did I put those anti-rant pills”…
To be specific:
$ sudo dolphin
[sudo] password for ben79:
Executing Dolphin as root is not possible.
IMO something not broken is now fixed. Congratulations!
pujithadimuthu thanks for reporting. What got devede and bleachbit fixed was mandian filing bug reports. So to get these other issues fixed I, you, or someone needs to file some bug reports. I’d suggest doing 2 or 3 and then when those are fixed or are otherwise RESOLVED file another 2 or 3. That’s just respecting our limited resources and our developers time. A few of these may need to be removed instead of fixed but that is a resolution where warranted. (For instance packages that are no longer maintained).
That being said it is important that you have reported this and that we eventually get these applications either fixed or in a few cases removed. Obviously the more people that pitch in and help the sooner accomplished.
I hope it is a bug.
When I’m root I am root and can do whatsoever I want.
If it’s not a bug, well… stop believing users are stupid.
Also, if they are they surely will find tons of ways to destroy their
systems.

Actually OffTopic, I would really need a workaround for this problem as I have to edit files and make changes while locally testing some stuff so…
I know I can run as root pcman-fm for example but dolphin is dolphin and I’m used to use it only.
Any help, please?
You can patch the code, of course. ;).
To be more seriously I see people on other forum complaint against this. Maybe KDE developers will change it in the future.
However there is nothing you can do in dolphin you can’t do in terminal.

I tried to install adobe reader. Most people use it. As I know adobe stooped the Linux adobe reader.
Is there any alternative software for Adobe reader. Which has the same functionality? PDFedit and Okular is available for free. But it is not the same as adobe reader. Master PDF Editor and Qoppa PDF Studio 11 is available for linux. but not free.
I got AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i486linux_enu.rpm. When I tried to install it.
