Please answer some basic questions
Where did you download the ISO file and which one exactly (link and filename)?
Did you verify the file to confirm ISO integrity?
How did you transfer the image to the USB pendrive?
Booting to Live mode works properly or same issues as in installed system?
Any chance that re-installing will make the things better?

I can’t even build Virtualbox from the .run file
No need
it would be nice if I could just install an actual working version of it from the repos
sudo dnf --refresh install virtualbox

Firefox from the repo’s also segfaults randomly
rpm -q firefox
run firefox from console and post the output

people not testing newer versions of things
I personally have cooker, ROME and 5.0 installed on different partitions and daily using sometimes one and sometimes other.
To be honest they are all pretty well working
Or should I just start looking for a different distro?
That’s an option too, if it’s what you wish.
