OM Welcome crashes debug

I have a laptop on which OM Welcome always crashes, even in live USB env

This is consistent on both Plasma 6 full and slim versions. Posting in case there is anything I can do or test to help with this issue, as I’ve seen a few people mentioning it, but it seems hard to reproduce. I have a scenario here where it happens 100% of the time.

Welcome to OpenMandriva forums.

The first very strong recommendation is to read How to get better results when posting about problems.

OM-Welcome is developed by @rugyada so I can only speak in general problem solving terms. I do regard OM-Welcome as one of OM’s best efforts to make things more user friendly.

Post terminal output of the failure and/or journalctl output. You can run it from terminal (Konsole) with om-welcome.

To use journalctl start with journalctl --help. Maybe running this after the app crashes might produce something useful, journalctl | grep om-welcome. But it will probably just repeat the terminal output.

If the output is more than say 20 or so lines you can put the output in a .txt file and post that here.

From not always perfect memory I seem to recall this might have to do with certain graphic hardware so posting what the hardware in use is might be useful. To pull graphic hardware info inxi -G or for all hardware info inxi -F.

I edited the title to make it more meaningful.

Please follow @ben79’ advices.

Thanks all, I’ll go through these and see what I can provide.

output.txt (2.9 KB)
Attached txt file with the results of terminal om-welcome output and inxi -F.

To be very clear, I’m not bent on getting this working, just providing an opportunity if the use case is helpful for development at all. Happy to continue testing if it helps anything. This laptop is a test environment that is killed and raised over and over, hence the system name.

Yes it’s clear, you are offering help to debug.

These are the (guess relevant) recurrent bits that all users with om-welcome crash see:

MESA-INTEL: warning: Haswell Vulkan support is incomplete
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I think also journalctl output might help.

output2.txt (57.0 KB)
Here’s a journalctl output for the specific time range om-welcome was run.

Using cooker build 4139 allows OM-Welcome to stay open in live environment. Trying an install; will update after.

Also working after install. A few other things in this build aren’t so happy, but welcome is working.

I am having the same problem, terminal output is the same as Ron’s. I was hoping to use the OM Welcome to properly install the Nvidia drivers as I cannot risk bricking this install right now. Tested on displayed kernel and 15r2. My system config is:
