Hello,

Requirements:

[x I have Searched the forum for my issue and found nothing related or helpful
I have checked the Resources category (Resources Index)
I have reviewed the Wiki for relevant information
I have read the the Release Notes and Errata

OpenMandriva Lx version:

OpenMandriva Lx release 6.0 (Vanadium) Rock for znver1

Desktop environment (KDE, LXQT…):
KDE, on x11

Description of the issue (screenshots if relevant):

So in this post:

the problem is described for the wayland system.

Well, on Rock the problem is still there. Tested on my primary desktop (amd) and on my test system (intel i7-6700; Dell Optiplex 3040)

And yes, the same solution (running with sudo from the cli does work).

I’m documenting this here because a new user is more likely going to use the gui/menu rather than the cli. So we really should fix it.

On ROME (iso 4172 with full updates) it was working fine

Hi! I’’had this problem on a old version of Oma (I don’t remember…). In my new Rome 25.12 Om ImageWriter works well, launching from menu.

I’m using a Intel pc and X11…

It works fine in Rome. I’m documenting this here because this is one of those things (I believe) we NEED to fix for ROCK.

Either as a bugfix or in a possible 6.1 update. It’s one of those cheesy little tools that nobody (myself incuded) uses all the time. Which is why I only noticed it now after 6 months of using OpenMandriva.

But for folks who are new to linux it can be a major negative
