Io invece ho riscontrato problemi con il checksum di alcuni file e l’aggiornamento non è andato a buon fine.

È possibile rimuovere i pacchetti in cache eseguendo 'dnf clean packages'.

Forse hai catturato il sistema mentre alcuni pacchetti stavano pubblicando. Riprova con il comando:

$ sudo dnf clean all ; sudo dnf --allowerasing dsync

Purtroppo continua a dare errore. Sto usando i seguenti mirror:

Secondo me questo è il comando migliore

La creazione del file di log è facoltativa, ma sempre utile e non costa nulla.

Quando si legge quel tipo di messaggio non bisogna fare altro che riprovare qualche minuto più tardi, e casomai riprovare ancora.

Con un aggiornamento così corposo, per non fare scaricare ogni volta tutto quanto, puoi aggiungere un’esclusione dei pacchetti problematici nel comando. In questo caso
-x distro-release-* -x vim

Quindi diventa:
sudo dnf --allowerasing -x distro-release-* -x vim distro-sync | tee dsync-log.txt

In seguito digiti il comando senza esclusioni. Se va va, se non va si riprova ma scaricherà soltanto i pochi pacchetti rimanenti finchè la transazione non si conclude a buon fine.

Non riesco a spiegare la differenza nei risultati.

Nota: quello che abbiamo entrambi è il mirror manager Mirrorbits.

OpenMandriva Mirrorbits legge i file repodata sul server “home” http://abf-downloads.openmandriva.org/ quindi reindirizza ai mirror. Ciò garantisce che l’utente riceva il software più recente durante gli aggiornamenti del software o le sincronizzazioni di distribuzione.

OpenMandriva Mirrorbits reads the repodata files at the “home” server http://abf-downloads.openmandriva.org/ then redirects to mirrors. This ensures user is getting the latest software during their software upgrades or distro-syncs.

@Marco ora penso a questo forse ci sono dei pacchetti corrotti sul mirror in Italia con i checksum sbagliati. Dove Mirrorbits sta reindirizzando il mio download a un mirror negli Stati Uniti. Ma ho scaricato manualmente i pacchetti distro-release da garr.it ma li hanno anche installati.

Da stamattina si dovrebbe trovare distro-release-* versione 23.08-3 pubblicato la scorsa notte, e l’aggiornamento non dovrebbe dare più alcun problema (da quel punto di vista, ma anche in generale)

Tra l’altro, ho appena notato che il riferimento a vim (infilato nella parte dell’output postato da copia/incolla) non è un errore perciò l’unico pacchetto potenzialmente problematico era distro-release, adesso risolto :wink:

Confermo che adesso gli aggiornamenti non restituiscono errori, ma ho avuto la bruttissima sorpresa di non riuscire ad avviare la macchina dopo l’installazione degli aggiornamenti e il reboot.
Con qualsiasi modalità di avvio (anche console) e qualsiasi kernel, anche più vecchio, il sistema si ferma sulla schermata di avvio e non mi presenta il login. Può essere che il problema sia causato dal modulo Nvidia Dkms?
Forse potrei sbloccare l’avvio da Grub modificando la stringa di boot, ma non so come. Grazie per eventuali suggerimenti.

Se puoi avviare una live ed entrare nella tua home del sistema installato dovresti trovare il log degli aggiornamenti.
Pubblicalo su un sito tipo pastebin e metti il link -oppure allega il file- qui.

Intendi la schermata di plymouth?
Non appena la vedi comparire premi subito ESC. Dovresti vedere il boot testuale invece che l’animazione di plymouth.
Magari aiuta, per il primo reboot.

Ho caricato un po’ di log, spero possano tornare utili.
Attualmente premendo esc il sistema non mi mostra le operazioni di boot, ma resta fisso sulla schermata con i tulipani. Non vedo nessun login, né ho la possibilità di aprire una console tramite combinazione di tasti.

In quelli io ci capisco poco.

se dsync-log.txt è un file che dovevo creare io in fase di update, allora non l’ho fatto. Se invece viene creato dal sistema, avrei bisogno di sapere dove trovarlo.
In ogni caso, se apri con cat il file dnf.log.2.txt puoi vedere l’intera transizione che il sistema mi ha mostrato a schermo.
Invece nel dnf.log.1.txt sembra che qualcosa non sia andato a buon fine:

Fino a poco tempo fa per disabilitare plymouth, ammesso che stia lì l’intoppo, bastava aggiungere alla riga del grub
plymouth.enable=0

Con la live puoi provare ad editare il file e riavviare.

Domanda: Come hai ottenuto i log? Dovevi avviare qualcosa o hai usato chroot?

Ho ottenuto i log da una live su usb, ma avrei potuto anche prelevarli tramite Diskinternals su Windows.
Con tutta onestà non ho voglia di reinstallare il sistema, ma se proprio non ci sono altre soluzioni… pace!

Vedi prima se riesci a fare qualche progresso, tipo riuscire ad avviare una console. Con quella si può fare qualche tentativo.

Posso solo accedere da una live, ma non ho dimestichezza con chroot. Faccio prima a reinstallare il tutto.
