Not working default applications/open bug reports in OMLx 4 Alpha

Tags: #<Tag:0x00007fb451e0dd20> #<Tag:0x00007fb451e0dc58>

As of 15:00 UTC 2019-02-05. This is hardware system installed from ISO 2416 and fully updated.

This is a list of the default applications I found not working or not working properly in OMLx 4.0 alpha. In other words these are the applications in the Application Launcher on a freshly installed OMLx 4.0 system.

This one may be working it opens eventually but it starts with this strange error:

ksieve editor

$ sieveeditor
KCrash: crashing… crashRecursionCounter = 2
KCrash: Application Name = sieveeditor path = /usr/bin pid = 9096
KCrash: Arguments: /usr/bin/sieveeditor
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib64/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit

[1]+ Stopped sieveeditor

$ kdenlive
mlt_repository_init: failed to dlopen /usr/lib64/mlt/
(/usr/lib64/ undefined symbol: usenglish_init)
Empty filename passed to function
terminate called after throwing an instance of ‘std::system_error’
what(): Unknown error -1
KCrash: crashing… crashRecursionCounter = 2
KCrash: Application Name = kdenlive path = /usr/bin pid = 9143
KCrash: Arguments: /usr/bin/kdenlive
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib64/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit

[1]+ Stopped kdenlive

Firewall Configuration

Does not ask for password thus it will not start.

This one is just a question on my part and may just be something I don’t understand the need for? Why do we have this and KDE screen locker? And there seem to be no settings for Xlock?

Post-edit: All in all a pretty short list.

I’m part of the way through testing everything in OM-Welcome to be sure that is all working. We could use some help with this as it is a lot of work.

Same needs to be done with OM-Control-Center.

Just tested kdenlive and see this issue too.
I have the same problem also with flowblade. Both programs rely on mlt.

This is list for OM-Control-Center:
This is as of 17:00 UTC 2019-02-06. It is possible that I missed something or otherwise have made errors so if anyone sees an error please let us know.

Under Software:

Update of system does not work.

Under Hardware>Device Configuration:

Audio Volume does not work
Audio and Video does not work

Under System>System:

Bug report tool does not work
Configure the system boot does not work

Under Security:

Nothing works. However Firewall Configuration is only not working because it does not ask for a password.

Post-edit: Actually not to bad for where we are in development. And thanks to whomever removed all the decrepit stuff from past and made changes that got us to this point. I believe that would be @bero and @rugyada.

I know why, it’s my stupid trivial mistake :unamused:

Not sure we want it there, maybe best to run updates by different location (console, tray bar applet, else).
But even if so… I don’t know how to make it properly working.

Yes, if we already have updater in system tray we don’t need it in OM-Welcome.

No worries.
