I’ve just downloaded and installed OpenMandriva for the first time this weekend. I’ve opted for ROME, and so far I feel like I really like it…
About me as it pertains to Linux: I started with RedHat 7.0 in 2000, around which time I had also tried Linux-Mandrake and Mandrake Linux… Since then, I’ve used Linux at home and at work for many years. In recent times, I’ve been on a few different independent releases, but nothing felt just right due to certain things about the distributions, or about the communities around them.
Having said that, I like what I see technically with OpenMandriva and I also like the vibe of this forum with what I’ve seen so far. It’s actually the first forum I’ve joined or posted on in nearly 20 years… of any kind. I do value fellowship, being part of something, and a community.
Thank you for having me.
