New update seems to have a broken package,

Please, correct it.
I can not use the task bar and the desktop. I can open apps by Alt-F2 only. And switch among them by Alt-Tab.
Maybe it’s been fixed. Here today I’m getting:
# urpmi -v --auto-update
...
To satisfy dependencies, the following packages are going to be installed:
Package Version Release Dist DEpoch Arch
(medium "main updates")
ccid 1.4.25 1 omv 2015.0 x86_64
task-plasma 5.8.4 0.5 omv 2015.0 noarch
task-plasma-minimal 5.8.4 0.5 omv 2015.0 noarch
143B of disk space will be freed.
96KB of packages will be retrieved.
Proceed with the installation of the 3 packages? (Y/n)
Edit: this is without testing repos enabled. However there have been packages installed from testing repos in recent past.
Here nothing changed.
I reconfigured my repositories and still have the same problem. I see about 124 packages to install but this task-plasma cannot be installed and all others are not selected.
Ben79
Do you have the package called grantleeeditor? If yes, which repository have it?
Well,
there is a package called grantleeeditor at a main-testing repository:
It seems that there have been another problem in the update list since this package was not included in main-updates!
I have this:
$ rpm -qa grantleeeditor
grantleeeditor-16.08.3-1-omv2015.0.x86_64
you probably are going to need to enable testing repos or at least main-testing and use --allow-nodeps or --allow-force. Testing repos are a quagmire right now. (To many packages have 2 or 3 versions in testing.)
Edit: Maybe it would be best to do nothing until this is sorted.
Also something is bleeped up if the task-plasma in main-updates requires packages in main-testing but it clearly does.
Edit some more: This will get sorted sooner is someone (not me ) reports it on Cooker ML.
Edit 3: no idea why emoji thingy isn’t working… Now I know. Thanks rugyada.
Huh??? I have no clue what you mean.
task-plasma wouldn’t have anything to do with this.
Hi,
OK, you are right.
It must have been one of these installed packages.

I have a workaround how to work with the task bar and the desktop again. When these ones freeze I press Ctrl-Alt-F2 and then Ctrl-Alt-F1 for returning to my KDE.
Apologies if my post was a bit snippy. I really did not mean for it to be that way. Just going through some of life’s difficulties.
Doh! Thanks.
I’ve filed a bug on this problem and Crisb pointed out that the unsatisfied dependence for task-plasma, the package grantleeeditor, is available at repositories.
Indeed, this package can be found at,
http://mirror.lagoon.nc/pub/openmandriva/3.0/repository/x86_64/main/updates/
However, regardless of the number of times I remove and add all repositories, this grantleeeditor package does not show up at drakconf’s list of available packages. I wonder if the medialist really represents the list of available packages.
I’m not having this issue. Are any of the packages in question from main-testing or other testing repos.
If you knew which package/packages are the cause then you could revert to previous version with urpmi --downgrade. Or hope that an update corrects problem.
Edit: This post is addressing this:
“I can not use the task bar and the desktop. I can open apps by Alt-F2 only. And switch among them by Alt-Tab.”
which is different from the original ‘broken package’ issue.
Mila if this issue persists perhaps you could open a new thread devoted to your issue?
It seems today is working well again. Run the updates again and now I have

Confirmed. Almost 700 packages downloaded and installed with no problems now.
I have resolved the problem with the frozen task bar and desktop.

Back again to updating problems,
Now,
One package could not be installed, task-plasma-minimal-5.9.3-1-omv2015.0.noarch (due to the lack of plasma-desktop-5.9.3-1-omv2015.0.i586)
This is really strange since my system is x86_64, see,
$ rpm -qa|grep plasma-desktop plasma-desktop-5.9.2-1-omv2015.0.x86_64
it seems that task-plasma-minimal requires only i586 arch’s.
As of this morning you can install plasma-desktop package from main-testing repo. And the error message about the i586 package is only because you have i586 repos enabled and urpmi read that first. If you have plasma-desktop-5.9.2-1-omv2015.0.x86_64 task-plasma-minimal would update it to plasma-desktop-5.9.3-1-omv2015.0.x86_64.
Upon further investigation there appears to be a borkup. There are plasma packages (same version) in both main-testing and main-updates at the same time. That isn’t supposed to happen. I’ve sent an e-mail about this on Cooker ML.
