Native playstation 1 emulator

hello everybody, so i’m feeling a bit nostalgic here and i would love to play my old playstation 1 games, can anybody suggest a good emulator for openmandriva?

i know there is duckstation on flathub but i would prefer to have an emulator in rpm as i will mostly use it to play my original games and i can’t get the flathub duckstation to read my cd player

suggestions welcomed

you could try the AppImage version of duckstation Release Latest Rolling Release · stenzek/duckstation · GitHub (the file would be DuckStation-x64.AppImage )

AppImages usually work on every GNU/Linux distros and aren’t as sandboxed as flatpak (meaning they should be able to read your discs without problem), they’re basically just an executable file you can launch just like a .exe on windows

(you could also just copy your discs as .iso files onto your hard drive, that would solve the flatpak problem and give you a backup copy of your games in case the disc somehow become unreadable one day)

i will take that in mind, thank you

for the moment anyway i installed retroarch found in omv repos and seems it can read my discs just fine

need to do some more testing anyway, before i can mark this as solution

Might take a look at this Reddit post I found https://old.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnPC/comments/11ur21k/duckstation_disk_error/l5hkl6d/

There might be further suggestions to chase in that thread.

I don’t think that’s my issue, as duckstation in rpm was perfectly able to see my dvd drive (and also pcsx2),only the flathub version wasn’t despite me having given the permissions with flatseal

anyway, for the moment i settled up with retroarch, which is a very bad app per se, but at least it works and reads my cds
