Black screen after sleep or hibernate.
Reproduction: wake up after sleep or hibernation, it always happens for me.
The apps often start slowly (>20s) despite the nvme ssd. The system monitor shows low usage for all hardware components. This happens randomly, I’m not sure if it’s possible to reproduce.
The discover app always wants to update when I open it. The updating is either very long or never finish. Cancelling the update make it possible to use the app.
The apps from the “OpenmandrivaLx” repository of discover never work. Error message: “the package daemonkit has crashed”. Happens with all apps.
The dolphin file manager crashes, stops or deletes files when moving large folders (>10k entries). The same bug doesn’t happens with the rsync terminal command.
Reproduction: move a >20GB folder with >10k entries with dolphin.
(Known issue of the dolhpin file manager)
Floating dialogs cannot be moved (Known issue of the KDE desktop, happens with all floating dialogs)
The desktop environments downloaded in the “welcome” app do nothing.
Booting with “recovery mode” results in pernament black screen. Always happens.
Console mode still works.
Is there any fix for these?
When I asked GPT for a fix it told me to use “sudo dnf upgrade --refresh” (and other commands). This installed the experimental desktop kernel that prevented the installation of the proprietary nvidia driver and forced full reinstall.
Other attempts (eg. setting power management to performance mode) didn’t do anything.
My system:
OpenMandriva Lx 6.0 (Vanadium) Rock with kernel 6.14.2 desktop
Desktop: kde plasma 6.3.4
KDE framework version: 6.13.0
kernel version: 6.14.2-desktop-3omv2590 (64-bit)
GPU: nvidia gtx 1080, 5.75 propietary driver (the newest is 580 but dnf doesn’t installs it and the official installer doesn’t works. error message: “You do not appear to have libc header files installed on your system. Please install your
distribution’s libc development package.” exact driver name: NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-580.119.02)
Graphic: x11
CPU: intel i3 10100F
Qt version: 6.9.0
RAM: 16GB
Space: 2x500GB, ext4
None of these bugs occured on linux mint zara cinnamon. I tried mandriva to get more features.
