Mirrors keep 404'ing

Hello All,

I’ve recently switched to OpenMandriva, and I’ve noticed that the mirrors keep 404-ing when I try to downlaod new software.

I would say it’s probably the mirrors down for maintainance or something similar. However, this has happened so frequently over the last 3 days, I’m worried it’s something else.

[robertfry@Rocket ~]$ sudo dnf update
OpenMandriva Rolling - x86_64 164 B/s | 153 B 00:00

Is this happening to anyone else?
Does anyone know what could be going on?

I see @bero is replying

Yes – essentially everything is fine. We’re preparing for the 6.0 Rock release, and right now there’s A LOT of syncs between cooker and rolling happening (when we find a bug that we want to see fixed in 6.0, we start another sync, build new isos, and test again).

During such syncs, the metadata has to be rebuilt, which causes repomd.xml to disappear while that metadata rebuild is happening.

TLDR: It’s normal for this to happen occasionally, right now it’s expected to happen at a much higher frequency than usual until we’re happy with the 6.0 release.

I was just about to look for information about this, since I had to do a clean install from scratch and do a fresh update. Good to know that it is just temporary. :+1:
