  • Relevant informations (hardware involved, software version, logs or output…):

OM developers have been hard at work and have released a major upgrade for ROME users.
The basics are to upgrade like this in Konsole (terminal):

$ sudo dnf clean all

$ sudo dnf --allowerasing distro-sync | tee rome-20231102.sync.log

Reboot for new kernel.

That will create the log rome-20231102.sync.log in case there are any issues needing attention or help from developers. You will need this log for other folks to help if help is needed.

If user is upgrading a VBox or other virtual machine they should run this after the upgrade but before rebooting or you may find your boot-loader broken:

$ sudo grub2-install /dev/sdx

Where you change /dev/sdx to the actual disk you are boot loading from. Like /dev/sda or /dev/nvme0n1.

Users may report issues in this English/Suppost forum with a descriptive title and enough information for someone to help. Or for major technical issues please file a proper bug report.

Please be respectful of other folks time should they attempt to help you.

Hi,
after upgrade I did NOT ran the sudo grub2-install /dev/sdx before rebooting.
The system could not boot.
I had to use the Fix broken boot-loader help about the Fix broken boot-loader.

I learned that step the hard way. Got some practice fixing broken boot loader in the process.
