I do hate how toxic Linux has become… It’s easily my favorite OS, and put it on all my laptops. Currently trying to figure out how to put Plasma TV onto my television. :melting_face: Glad I came across OpenMandriva. Love this community. Toxicity is even seeping into my previous distro, Garuda Linux community. Always one guy who has to politicize everything that’s said.

Breaking News: OpenMandriva goes woke! Let’s all move to BSD XD

PS: The BSD questioin is something that actually has been on a mind for a while, though. Imagine a BSD Mandriva with latest KDE. It would be glorious. Wouldn’t run my games but, I can live with that.

Love the banter. Bring back friendly banter without feelings getting hurt all the time (not telling you all that, just a general statement). THAT helps build communities. Have gotten plenty of laughs already from this forum, and looking forward to many more!

That might actually happen at some point. The reason why the official name of the distro is OpenMandriva Lx is that we wanted to have some identifier in so we also build something otherwise identical with a BSD kernel and libc under it.

Now in the 12 years since we started, it hasn’t happened because nobody had the time and it has never been a priority (and for the vast majority of potential users, a Linux based spin will be better because of driver support anyway) – but of course as more things get off the TODO list and more contributors come in, that may change.
