Kwallet causes a lot of problems

Kwallet fails to unlock or work with several applications that need a keyring. Is there a way to stop using it and go with something a bit more compliant? What would that be, and how could I got about doing that, without breaking a ton of stuff?

Almost every time I have installed Linux, I have to change the password for kdewallet in KWalletManager.

And that should do the trick? Because it doesn’t play nice with Fractal or Element. It wont work with Proton Bridge. There are a few others, but those are the big ones for me.

As far as working with certain programs, you may have to try something different. All I have installed is KWalletManager, but there are others out there. My suggestion is always, start with the simple stuff.

You can also set KWalletManager to use no password.

Very true.

Can’t you just change the options here?

Yes, you can turn it off completely. You have to use something else to manage your keys.

@WilsonPhillips I’d assume is what the user wants (?)
